The AHEAD Project accepted an invitation by the Netherlands Police (as partner in MARIT-D) to share its methodology and conduct an AHEAD-type Foresight Exercise on the topic of maritime drug trafficking. Members of the EuCB Core Group on Maritime Drug, coming from 13 countries, were also invited to join this exercise as part of their regular Core Group meeting. They included representatives from National Police, Coastguards or Douane/Customs plus EUROPOL and MAOC. This highly qualified group of experts worked on several future scenarios and using the AHEAD Foresight serious game came up with potential solutions and mitigations for future threats.

๐Ÿ‘‰ The EuCB CG meeting and the AHEAD exercise were held in Faro (Portugal) on 29 January 2025.

The AHEAD Faro session was a test of the new version of the AHEAD methodology in a specific domain. It also provided a great opportunity to collaborate with MARIT-D, building on outputs from the two projects. For the EuCB Core Group, the exercise allowed to come up with recommendations for Law Enforcement Agencies to work on needed future capabilities to better fight drug trafficking.
